How we handle your information
We collect only what we need to check a home and send you the report. We never sell it or use it for anything else, and we delete it after 30 days.

What we collect
When you order a check, the form sends us:
- the addresses of the homes you want checked (or a listing link, which we only use to read the address);
- your email address;
- the dealbreakers you ticked and the report you chose;
- when you're hoping to buy;
- the traffic source: a short label for the link that brought you to the page, such as "reddit-ottawa" or "direct".
If you pay for a full report, Stripe collects your payment details on its own page. We see your name, email and the amount paid. We never see your full card number.
We don't store listings, and we don't ask for your name, phone number or finances.
Why we collect it
We use the addresses and dealbreakers to look up public records for each home, and your email to send the report. If you joined the Watchlist list, we use your email only to tell you if it opens.
We use your buying timeline and the traffic source only in totals, to learn which places bring requests and what people need. We don't use them to contact you.
We never sell your information, share it for marketing, or reuse it for anything else.
Who processes it
- Formspree receives the order form and passes it to us.
- Stripe handles payment for the full report.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies.
- Google Fonts supplies the typeface on this page, so your browser connects to Google, which can see your IP address.
- Our email provider carries the report to you.
- To look up records we send the address only (never your email) to the public-record sources named in your report, such as municipal open data services.
Some of these companies store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessed under local law.
This site sets no cookies of its own. Stripe's payment page uses its own cookies.
How long we keep it
We delete your request, your report and our emails with you 30 days after we receive the request. That includes the copy held by Formspree. Watchlist sign-ups are deleted after 30 days as well.
Order files are kept on our own computer, not in shared online storage.
One exception: Stripe and we keep payment records (amount, date, email) for as long as Canadian tax law requires.
Delete it sooner, see it, or correct it
Email from the address you used. Ask us to delete your request early, send you a copy of what we hold, or correct it. We'll confirm by email once it's done.
If you're not happy with how we handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
